The Journey

Through mountains high and valleys low,
I'd searched for a love so rare,
Under sunny skies and the full moon's light,
For a love I feared wasn't there.

Through fields of flowers and forests dark,
My heart forever yearning,
For someone to comfort and guide me,
Along life's rocky journey.

In the forest's dim light I saw Him,
Standing at the fork in the path,
He held His wounded hands out to me,
"Will you follow Me?" was all He asked.

I fell to my knees as if broken,
Overwhelmed by the love I now felt,
To Him I poured out my sorrows,
As by my side He quietly knelt.

I continued on the path with my Savior,
Through storms and bright sunny days,
No longer confused in my journey,
For He is with me to show me the way.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me , when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
