New Birth – What Does It Really Mean?

This month, our CMA Chapter Chaplain and his wife, are expecting their second child. The excitement of a new birth is filling the air within our Chapter. Soon, they will be able to see the child that has been forming within her womb for the last 9 months. They will both become new parents, once again. Their other son will be a big brother for the very first time; lots of responsibilities coming soon, for all.

New Birth is exciting! When we give our hearts to Jesus for the very first time, we have been given the opportunity to wipe our slates clean and start over again. Think about that for a moment. As soon as you give your heart to Jesus, your past is just that…YOUR PAST! It's all behind you now. You are a new creation, a new baby in Christ. The Lord takes your body and cleans you off and sucks clean all the gunk that was once inside you, and breathes LIFE into your lungs and gives you a New Beginning!!

A new beginning means we can forget about whom we once were; what we used to do; who we used to be. For me, I am no longer an adulteress. I am no longer into drugs and alcohol. I am no longer a horrible wife and mother. I am no longer a disappointment to my Father! I am LOVED unconditionally. I am accepted unconditionally! My past just doesn't matter anymore! I can now look at myself in the mirror and know that I have been reborn! I've gone through that birth canal (my past), and it was a horrible struggle; but I made it through that birth canal with all the contractions it took to get me here! Many friends and family members were praying me through the “birth canal”, and Praise God, I made it!

There was a time that Satan was trying to take my life. A time where I honestly felt I was such a horrible disappointment to others that I needed to remove myself from the life of everyone that I had ever hurt or disappointed! Satan was trying to convince me that suicide was the only way that would remove the hurt and disappointment!

Satan didn't take me that day! JESUS WON THAT BATTLE FOR MY LIFE !!! HALLELUJAH !!! There isn't a day goes by that I don't thank Him for saving me; for giving me that NEW BIRTH; for wiping my slate clean and giving me a NEW LIFE!! Jesus loves YOU the same as He does me and He can win the battle for your life, as well!! He's just waiting for you to make the decision to go through the new birth process with Him. He's ready to wipe you as clean as a new baby and give you a NEW LIFE in Him!

Make that decision today. Don't allow Satan to steal even one more second from your life! Jesus is ready to take you in His arms and love you for who you are; the good, the bad and the ugly!
