Freedom That Comes From God!

Freedom is the greatest gift we can receive. But if we are not careful it can also be the greatest curse. God gave us freedom when He gave us free will. He loved us enough to want a REAL relationship with us, not just a robotic relationship. He did not want to force us to love Him, but it is His greatest joy when we choose to return the love He offers us unconditionally.

As our children start growing up, we have to give them more freedom. With this freedom comes more responsibility. The consequences for their actions become theirs to deal with. The hardest part of parenting is watching your children make unwise choices and knowing there is nothing you can do about it to protect them from the consequences.

How it must grieve God's heart to watch His people making wrong choices, but honoring the free will He gave to us. It's not like we didn't have access to the wisdom needed to make the right choices. The Bible gives us the answers for any situation we could possibly come against. But often we do not seek those answers.

It saddens me to watch as our country, as a whole, uses freedom unwisely. Not just in government, but in individual lives. We call what is wrong right and what is bad good. We ignore what the Word of God says about situations and “tolerate” for the sake of peace. There is little or no thought as to what consequences these choices now will have on our future.

In Christ we have the freedom to choose His ways or our own ways. God has our very best interest at heart. And if we choose to follow the directions He has set out for us in His Word, we will walk down a path of blessings. If we choose to walk away from that path, we are living dangerously and inviting curses and trouble into our life. Funny how many people will choose to get off of the path God has placed there to lead them to a life that is abundant and full of blessings and then turn around and blame God for letting them get off of that path. We want freedom of choice…but we want God to change His path to match the way we choose to go. It doesn't work that way.

Freedom misused is a very dangerous weapon. We must respect that freedom. We must seek to use it wisely. It is not up to someone else to make our choices for us…it is up to each individual. How are you using your freedom? Are you using it wisely? Are you using it for the glory of God or are you using it to satisfy your own self. It is strictly your choice. Freedom in your life…blessing or curse?

My Princess…

Freedom is a choice

So if the Son sets you free,

You will be free indeed.

John 8:36

I long to give you the keys to be free from the things that bind you and see you break through to a blessed life in Me. But freedom is a choice…your choice. You can be totally free in Me or try to set yourself free. I promise, My princess, I am the Only One who can give you the life-giving keys you need and want. The keys are hidden in My Word, empowered by your prayer, and completed by the work of My Holy Spirit living in you. Choose the way, My love…choose life.

Love,

Your King and your freedom
