IS FEAR A FACTOR FOR YOU?
Have you ever felt inadequate, inferior or intimidated? Have these things ever kept you on the side lines and out of the game? Do you get anxious at the thought of meeting new people or being forced to mingle and make conversation with people you don't know very well? You may have been shy as a child and feel more comfortable keeping to yourself. Maybe your personality type would rather avoid crowds or people all together. That's fine as long as there isn't anything dictating to you that this is how it has to be. The world calls this panic, but fear is the proper name for it.
I have just described to you the first thirty years of my life. I had that nagging thing that kept me feeling not quite good enough, a little inadequate, a little inferior and very intimidated.
Thank God that the truth of His word got through to me and set me free. The lies I had believed all of my life were exposed.
SATAN IS A LIAR.
IF SATAN CAN CONVINCE YOU THAT YOU ARE LACKING IN SOME AREA OF LIFE, YOU WILL ACT ACCORDINGLY AND CRIPPLE YOURSELF.
Once seeds are sown, and you decide to receive them into your self as fertile soil, they will grow and produce after their own kind. This is the law of seed time and harvest. It works on bad seed as well as good seed.
Satan (one more thought and that's enough about him) brings the thoughts of “I can't” to you, when all along God's Word says, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.
This should be a clue to us. God never tells you that you can't do something. He is the one who put the power on the inside of you that helps you do everything you will ever need to do. When you hear anything from the inside or the outside realm to make you think that you can't, run in the opposite direction and do it anyway.
John 8:32 tells you that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
The greater One lives in you. He has sent a helper, the Holy Spirit to you. Don't miss out on half of your life because of a lie.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear; because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
Fear has torment. That is the perfect way to describe it. If you have ever lived in fear, you were tormented. Have you noticed how often in the Bible people were told, fear not. That tells me that fear is a choice. I decide whether or not I will do it. In today's world, you will have many opportunities to fear, the choice is yours.
There are many verses that talk about fear, but here is the one that opened my eyes and set me free.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Fear can feel like something that has been forced on you. The key is to recognize it when it tries to come and not receive it. Fear is a spirit and it comes to see if you will invite him in. The choice is yours.
I knew this verse, but had never seen it as an actual spirit that had found just the right button to push to get me to respond to it. All I had to do was take my God given authority over it and it had to leave.
Once I told the spirit of fear to leave me, I WAS FREE. I could feel the difference in myself. Things that I had always responded to out of fear, I no longer did. Boldness rose up on the inside of me like never before. Fear had been the lid keeping boldness from being able to spring up and work in my life. I knew I was supposed to have boldness, but I couldn't quite walk in it like the Bible said I should. Now I knew why.
The fear was gone, the torment was gone, the feelings of inferiority were gone. The limits had fallen off of my life like shackles to the ground. I am not the same person I use to be. I AM FREE. I have been free from fear for about fifteen years now.
Let's lay a foundation about your God given authority that you can stand on.
Luke 9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
This same power and authority is yours today if you are a born again believer. All you have to do is exercise it. If anything I have said has reminded you of yourself and you want to be free, this is what needs to come out of your mouth.
In the name of Jesus , whose I am and who I serve, I take authority over the spirit of fear and tell it to leave me right now. I rebuke you and refuse to let you stay here any longer, I take authority over every thing that has to do with fear, intimidation, inadequacy, inferiority, panic, (you insert whatever you have been dealing with) leave me right now, in the name of Jesus.
Now Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus , and thank You that You have set me free. I make the decision today to walk in the freedom You have already given to me. Thank you for opening my eyes to the truth of Your word, and exposing the lies of my enemy. Forgive me Father for opening the door to things that are not of You. In Jesus name.
When you have lived with something for a long time, you instantly recognize it when it comes to call. That is when you shut the door and say no thank you, you are not welcome here.
