Something New Over the Sun

The bible tells us there is nothing new under the sun. But have you considered what's new over the sun.   God is over the sun, the earth and all that exists!   He is not “new” because He has always existed but His mercies are new every morning.   And in Christ we are made new creations. He is the Almighty Creator and just in saying He creates means He makes new things.

What new thing have you seen God do lately?   Or what new thing have you learned lately?

The tactics of the devil are not new. He is constantly pulling the same tricks. People fall every second of the day for the same things they have fallen for centuries past. But when we are submitted to God we notice great and marvelous things new to us. Our eyes are opened to seeing a whole new world. We are new creations that don't have to fall for the lies that brought us down before.

Newness infers possibilities.   New things have more capabilities and advancement.   So we are advanced when we become new creations in Christ. The old parts of us that were susceptible to decay and delusion are coated with a protective shield called the blood of Christ.   A new armor is available that enables us to keep the enemy at our feet. Our newness enables us to be strong in the Lord.   Without the Lord however our newness simply rusts away making us unable to move in Him and it isn't a pretty site.

“New” also infers clean and fresh. People are drawn to freshness.   Stale rhetoric is repulsive. But God's word is fresh and alive, reviving the soul.  

To revive is to re new .

Some things aren't new but we discover them and call them new.   An example of this is Mark Blitz's discovery of how God's calendar (Jewish) shows precisely the pattern of the lunar and solar eclipses corresponding to holy days.   The bible says we will see the signs in the skies of the returning of the Messiah and we don't have to be like those who will be caught by the thief in the night.

This past month the Jews celebrated the sun being positioned in the same place they believe as on the day of creation. This has happened only two previous times. One at the Exodus and the second at the time of Ester when the Jews were once again spared. Some are saying that this third time is proclaiming the return of the Messiah.   I do not know if this is true but I do know God is revealing new things in these times and it is important to pay attention.

Only those who have new hearts, eyes and ears will see the New Jerusalem.

Again I ask what have you seen that is new and what have you learned from the Lord that is new?   He wants to speak newness into our minds and hearts on a daily basis, even moment by moment.

Do a new thing. Get quiet with the Lord. Don't fill the time with your words; just let Him speak newness of heart to you personally.

You will walk away fresh and clean, revived and renewed.
