Change…

For Better or Worse

Juda Myers ©1/2009

Do you feel “change” happening? It's been happening for quite some time now, subtle but strong, quiet but encompassing, slowly but steady. I'm sure most people know how the frog can sit in a pot of cold water while it heats up to the point of no escape. Can you feel the temperature rising around you?

It's always fun to feel the wind on our faces right before a storm. But if we simply stand there ignoring the warnings we will be destroyed. There is a storm coming for believers and destruction has already begun. Areas such as rights for the unborn, free speech for Christians, and the definition of marriage are only a few areas being hit hard.

What shall we do?

1.  Do nothing out of fear of persecution?

2.  Do nothing because of apathy, as it doesn't affect us directly now?

3.  Do nothing because we refuse to listen to “gloom and doom”?

4.  Join the crowd cheering the change to be tolerant of others?

5.  Stand on the truth of the bible as true believers and followers of Christ?

If you chose anything but #5, you are standing in the face of a great storm without protection.

I see Christians already turning toward a change that mocks the word of God. One friend of mine actually said she had to stay “true to self”. Those who say they are Christians will have ample opportunity to prove it. To do or say nothing is simply unacceptable to the Lord and a disgrace to those who have given their lives for the Lord's service. Paul sought change as a nonbeliever while killing those who followed Christ. He thought he was doing right! But once his eyes were literally opened his life changed for a different cause. He changed to offer his own life for that of Christ's. The change that this world needs is to have blinded eyes opened and then to walk in obedience to the God of all creation.

A doctor was interviewed in December on CNN with Campbell Brown. The subject was about moral objections to certain medical services for women. This doctor refuses to perform abortions or give birth control pills. The reporter pressed the doctor for the reason he wouldn't do something for a woman who had been raped. He simply stood his ground and said he could not go against his conscience. He believed life begins at conception. Campbell Brown didn't have a clue how he could feel this way. Oh but I can and I praise God for this doctor that would stand to save lives like mine.

A 24 year old woman was also interviewed and said her doctor made her feel “judged” when he told her he wouldn't prescribe birth control pills for her since she wasn't married. Seems like conscientious objectors on the side of Christianity won't be tolerated. Just like E-Harmony was sued to allow homosexuals to be matched up, the liberals cannot stand to have Godly people serving God. They can choose to go elsewhere for their services but aren't satisfied until Godly people fall or are defiled.

It won't be long before the bible will be banned, as a book of hate speech. We've had God out of schools for years now and many have just gone with the flow trying to keep laws and peace.

How much more change will Christians allow?

In some countries even the mention of God is unlawful. Is that what Americans really want? I think not, but God's people will have to stand for all of His word.

The bible tells us to fear not. The only thing to fear is not fear itself but God the Almighty.

Those who change to His ways will be forever changed.

Let's welcome God's change and not that of any man! The rewards for following the Lord and enduring until the end are written below as written in His word.

Revelation 2:7, To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Revelation 2:10, Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer….Be faithful even to the point of death and I will give you the crown of life.

Revelation 2:17, To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it

Revelation 2:26-28, To him who overcomes and does my will to the end I will give authority over the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery just as I have received authority from my Father. I will also give him the morning star.

Revelation 3:5, He who overcomes will like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.

Revelation 3:10, Since you have kept my command to endure patiently I will keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

Revelation 3:21, To him who overcomes I will give the right to sit with me on my throne just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on His throne.

Choice of Love

When tears fall from sacrifice
and choice is made with no demise;
for what is right is pushed ahead
of selfish gain that death has led.

When the soul breaks from the body free;
a new life springing into destiny.
When the breath of hope fills the air
love once again conquers the grip of despair.

When the love of life is given away
to longing hearts for years have prayed.
Love has accomplished what eyes wouldn't see;
for God's choice of life sets more than just one heart free.
