As we leave 2008 and journey into 2009, I reflect on the past year of our life here at HeartBeat and it was a good year for the magazine. I believe it was a year of growing and finding ourselves on the internet and where we “fit in”. HeartBeat the Magazine is an inspirational and motivating magazine, designed to encourage people, support ideas and elevate the readers to a new level in their lives. I believe we accomplished our goals for 2008 in that respect. It's a New Year and a new level of commitment. We do commit to our readers, quality writers and articles to help you in almost every area of your life. If you have an idea or a suggestion, please let us know by emailing us at: feedback@heartbeatthemagazine.com If you've noticed, we have changed the look of the magazine just a little. We now link the front cover as the beginning page and then have the Staff and Information page, next, then the Table of Contents. We hope to make more improvements this year to enhance the magazine and make it fun and easy to read. This month our nation ( USA ) will have a new President; Barak Obama. As with the Presidents of the past, we will pray for and respect our leader and support him as he takes our nation into 2009. We pray for wisdom from God above and for his safety as well as his family's safety. We pray for our nation as a whole and the nations around the world that this year will be a year of peace and friendship across the oceans; that people will come together and reach out to one another and help one another in time of crisis. We pray that God will bestow mercy and grace upon us once again and pour out His Spirit and bring a revival that this world has never seen! I love this New Year's saying: “Let Jesus SHINE in 2009!” And we certainly agree with this saying! Next month, I will begin a series of writings on depression called, “Getting Over Depression… with God”. I am in the process of writing a book with that title and it will have medical information on depression along with real testimonies (including my own) of people who have and are struggling with depression and how we cope and get over the depression. There will also be tips and guidelines for those who have loved ones going through depression and what they can do and say to help them. It will be very good, so don't miss it! February is also the month of LOVE, so, if you have a story to tell about someone you love, please send it to us and we will publish it in the magazine! The deadline is January 18 th .
