River's Edge
by Terri Blackstock

Continuing with my review of the Cape Refuge series, this month, I'm sharing my review of River's Edge. In River's Edge, we find Jonathan Cleary running for Mayor of Cape Refuge. As with any political race, the competition is fierce and the town is preparing for the big debate. Until a shocking discovery is made concerning one of Jonathan's opponents, Ben Jackson. His wife has gone missing.
Soon, the local physic has a vision, and Lisa Jackson's body is discovered, with her husband Ben as the main suspect. The events that follow turn the quiet town of Cape Refuge into media circus. Blair Owens, the new owner of the Cape Refuge Journal takes on the task of finding out the truth. And the truth reveals much about the other mayoral opponent, the local physic and many other residents in this small town.
In the midst of this drama, young Sadie learns that her mother Sheila may soon be released from prison. Will Sheila be able to come live with Sadie at Hanover House? Will she want to? Or will Sadie be forced to leave the one place she's felt like she belonged, was wanted and loved?
Once again, Terri Blackstock brings such heartfelt emotion to her characters, you can't help but feel like you know them. If you haven't had the chance yet, be sure to go back and read the first two books in this series, Cape Refuge and Southern Storm. I'm sure you'll warm to these great characters just as I have! |
