The Lighthouse Award

“There are a few people in our lives who really inspire us to be the kind of person we really want to be.”

I would like to recognize my son, Phillip (the writer of Phillip's Flick's), who recently was awarded THE LIGHTHOUSE AWARD.   This award is given by teachers who believe that the student they are giving the award to is a leader, a hard worker and someone to look up to.   The great thing about Phillip is that he has had to struggle with a disability all his life… Asperger's Syndrome, which is a high functioning form of Autism and he has overcome many, many obstacles to become the young man he is today!   Not only has he earned this award, but, he is a straight A student, in the National Honor Society, he is in Drama/Theater and just made Thespian; and he is in Art, which is his passion and hopes to go on to Art School in the future to be an Animator for movies.   We are so very proud of him and thank God that He gave Phillip to us… I am very honored and blessed to be his mom!   Phillip is my HERO!

THE WHY GUY!

We were honored to have Texas' own “WHY GUY” to speak at the ceremony!

Mike Castellucci joined WFAA-TV in the spring of 2003 as a reporter for the Daybreak show.   His Why Guy segments take him all over North Texas, finding the interesting people and places, which usually air in the 5:00 PM News and can always be found at www.wfaa.com/whyguy

Mike reports on the stories that have somehow missed the spotlight but shouldn't be missed.   More about Mike's stories on these interesting people and places can be seen occasionally through the year in half hour specials called WhyTV .   Mike has become increasingly famous with high school students with the Alarm Clock Pep Rallies , which are held and air during Daybreak at 5:00 AM.
