Father's Day around Our Home

Father's Day is a special time around our house. Both of our children were born a short time before Father's Day and we had them dedicated to God in our church on Father's Day two years consecutively. My husband considers Father's Day to be a rich day to spend with our family and revel in his fatherhood. And, my children and I try to make sure it is a special day for him by doing extra little things and by giving him gifts.

As I was thinking about Father's Day and how special it is to our family, I thought about how Father's Day ought to be special to us as Christians as well. Our Heavenly Father gave us the richest of gifts – His Son. There is no other gift that can compare! We are able to come into His presence and worship Him now as we would have never been able to do before Christ's death on the cross and resurrection.

So as we move closer to Father's Day this month, let us think about ways we can please our Heavenly Father and give Him the gift of our worship, the gift of our obedience to show Him how much we love Him.
