Peace for Parents of Teens |

Dear Parents, “Peace for Parents of Teens” is for parents with teens who experience struggles as they try to mature and discover their own identity in this world. When my daughter was going through hardships, I wanted desperately to find encouragement to give us peace of mind before we lay our head down each night. Something to help us feel we weren't bad parents and my daughter wasn't a bad child. Comfort that let me know God was there in our midst and He was seeing us through this storm. I couldn't find it. Being a writer, I know the industry and the Christian Market, but try as I may every devotional, meditation or book I found wasn't that little blanket of unconditional understanding I needed. So I wrote one. Every week has a topic from the Bible. Each day of the week there is a verse of encouragement, a quote from a Christian icon, a question and a prayer that you can pour over your child. A tie-in paragraph addresses some of the struggles teens are dealing with today. These nuggets of peace will help get you through the night, knowing you've called on God and covered your teen with hope. Peace for Parents of Teens can also be used as a parent-teen meditation if and when the teen is willing. The question is meant for parents to ask their teen, but as parents of teens all know, finding that opportunity doesn't always come. Parents can choose to answer the questions themselves or think about how their teen might answer. Questions personalize the verse and prayer, so find how to utilize these tools to best fit your approach. Before you turn the page I want to tell you that no matter how you feel, you are a good parent. Any other kind wouldn't be reading these devotionals. In Him, Beth |
