Take a moment to appreciate the things you have, things you are grateful for and enjoy them by not taking them for granted. That is what being Grateful means to me. To many times we go through life just expecting everything to happen when we want and we get so focused on that, we forget how many wonderful things surround us through the day, things we take for granted. I know I have run into this on many occasions and God has this way of reminding me to slow down and stop and just enjoy the blessings around me.
Having a healthy house is something that sometimes I feel I can obsess about if I am not careful. You can over do anything. If you try each day to do something small to improve your life or home, before you know it you will be on your way to a healthier lifestyle.
I started with downsizing and just getting organized, when my kids were little. By doing this it allowed me to feel free and not be frazzled all the time. Depending on how much you think you might need to downsize, I would recommend starting with one room in the house at a time. When you are cleaning out ask yourself, “Why am I holding onto this? Do I need this?” My favorite, “ Do I really need 20 pairs of shoes?” Simple questions like these can get you moving in the right direction. Or my favorite rule of thumb is if I haven't used it in a year or has no sentimental value then good- bye it goes.
Things can clutter our life and keep one from truly enjoying what God has waiting for us each day.
Take the time to be grateful and enjoy the goodness that surrounds you. If you find you're not able to do that them maybe it is time to find out why.
