Share Your Videos, Photos and Memories as Entertainment

Now that the holiday parties are over, you may already have what you will need for entertainment at an upcoming 2012 event. If your family is like mine you probably have a large collection of photos, videos, scrapbooks and files full of memorable items. If you do, here are a few ideas to consider for putting those treasures and collectibles to use.

With the decrease in equipment prices, the increase in accessibility, the frequency and commonplace of use, our life events that are captured on video are more prevalent. Consequently, family videos are fun and interesting to watch and scrap books and collectibles make amazing conversation pieces. Since the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas bring families and acquaintances together, why not show the guests at your upcoming event some of the pictures and video that you recently captured? By way of pictures and video you can introduce the members of your family that your guests have never met or seldom get to see.

It used to be that watching someone else's home movies was considered boring, but with spontaneous capture of video that's been made possible with the availability of cameras, your collection may be considered quite entertaining and unique! Because of the way we interact -- or not interact – with others socially the way people used to, it's a good way to get to know each other's families. Our mobile lifestyles have left us lacking in relationships with other's families, and this may be the key to returning to those values.

For ease, effectiveness and convenience it will make the introductory experience more fun if you prepare ahead and organize. Play the videos in advance to make sure they contain the subject matter you would like to feature, and that it will be enjoyable subject matter for everyone. If you know who your guests will be and you know the content on the video, you can decide if it will be a good entertainment match.

Also, it's beneficial to be certain that the computer filename or the label on the memory chip, cartridge or DVD is accurate. Things could be very disappointing for everyone when a huge deal is made of viewing the movies and, in reality the content is not what you expected! Along the same lines, organize the memory books or albums you plan to share. If you have numerous books, it will be worth it to make certain what you are sharing are the images that you want to present and your visitors will enjoy viewing.

Coming up with fresh, quality entertainment may be easier than you think. Images and moments that you recently captured in keeping with an annual routine may be just the thing you're looking for in event planning. Go ahead and share those memories, because doing so will increase their value to you and your friendships will be strengthened.
