A Call I Heard
Awaken, o spirit of man. Awaken to light. Arise to glory. Long have you stumbled in the gutters of the City of Destruction. Long have you lingered to ponder on Vanity. Now is the time to flee from your filthy condition.
Far too long have you been content with the refuse of the streets. Far too many days have you groveled in the ashes of death. Now, up from the ground! Get up from you feet! Stop chasing the wind. Stop holding your breath.
Up! Up with you from the place where you lay in futility. Open your eyes that were blinded by the weight of your sight. Shake free your hands and your mind from the chains of apathy. Stand alert. Behold truth. Seek the glorious. Take flight.
Know that what I call you to do, I will equal power give. In this power you will do all I command, and in this power alone. So awaken, arise, leave rubbish behind, see, and fly, and live. Awake. Awaken. And take to the sleeping all that you have been shone. |
