The Devil and the Image of God Juda Myers 1.2011 When people imagine the devil, they think of a horned creature in a red suit or something so hideous that eyes can't bear to look upon. But in reality he was a most beautiful angel with all the musical instruments in his body. He was a beautiful instrument of praise. Then Satan wanted all that God is. He still wants to be God and is diligently trying to destroy anything that bears God's resemblance. As I look at the world today I see the worst degree of moral degradation I have ever seen. It occurred to me that since humans are made in the image of God we are the highest priority among Satan's targets. I don't like focusing on him but I realize I should not be unaware of his tactics. Deception is growing like a heavy fog upon this earth. *Romans 12:9* …Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Since fewer and fewer people seem to read and know what the bible declares as evil, more and more fall into deception. It is intolerant to call anything evil these days unless it is something God has declared good ! *Isaiah 5:20* *Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who change darkness into light and light into darkness, who change bitter into sweet and sweet into bitter!* God's people should not be like frogs in a pot of water to be boiled. We must be quick to see what God has judged as evil. So many say “Do not judge” and that is true for we are not to make our own judgments except from what God tells us. We are not to, for example, suddenly declare that red shirts are evil. That is a human decision. Nor are we to change God's judgment to satisfy our evil desires. I have been confronted with being called judgmental simply by reading a scripture that I did not author. Now what would be the greatest deception ever? I think it would be to convince humans that they are not created in the image of God, that the strongest can use the weakest for their own pleasures. To create a multi level marketing project that could destroy the world would be a great idea. (No attack on mlms because Jesus used that method to spread salvation) However Satan perverts God's ways. The most vulnerable of all God's humans is the child. Jesus warned that it would be terrible for anyone who made these little ones fall. Children are sexually abused by the millions. What once was a secret is now big business. Satan knows that sex can lead to future humans who could possibly glorify God. So he perverts the sex, insulting God and then tries to destroy any attempt to reproduce an image of God. If God does send a baby created in His image into a woman, Satan is ready to destroy it before or after it is born. Abortion has killed over 54 million –reported- babies in the US since Roe vs. Wade. Norma McCorvey may have found salvation but the consequences of her actions as “Roe” seem to gaining momentum at a rapid rate. So babies have been dying legally for over 30 years. Sin always has consequences. The other underlying plan has been to ruin humans at a young age and convince them to pass it on. So child abuse has been growing so fast we can't keep count. One in three people are suspected to have suffered or are suffering sexual abuse. There is even a rise in parents killing their children outside the womb. It is Satan's attempt to destroy the image of God and the potential of God getting the glory. Sadly many people are turning blatantly and openly to Satan while believers are falling away. *I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons* A recent article by Bob Unruh/WND Daily says A University of Hawaii professor and director of the Pacific Center for Sex and Society is postulating that child pornography actually can serve a beneficial service to society because "potential sexual offenders use child pornography as a substitute for sex crimes against children." He goes on to quote, "In his study he researched how the legalization of adult pornography in the Czech Republic did not bring a rise in sex crimes against adults. He also states that when child pornography was legalized sex crimes against children were decreased. (Of course they would decrease because it would not be a crime). He believes that children would benefit from the legalization of child pornography," wrote Joy Brooks in the Examiner. I learned about sex at the age of six from a teen pedophile and I can tell you I found it to be a great harm and by no stretch of the imagination to be a “benefit”. Woe to those who call evil good! Where is the church in all of this? Many are in agreement with the world and falling for the lies. God says for us to be in the world not of it. There are some leaders in all denominations that are shaming the name of Christ. It is time the people who know the word of God to stand bold and confront the lies. If we do not speak out for those who have no voice we will go down as guilty as the perpetrators because we are enabling them to do their evil. Leaders need to address this from the pulpit. Congregations should reach out and step out of their comfort zones. Many within the church are victims and need help desperately. But so many churches are silent on abortion and sex because they are guilty and don't want to be exposed. The world and its people are not getting better while we sit back minding “our own business” IT IS OUR BUSINESS. Don't fall for the lie that it “doesn't concern us” that homosexuals are adopting children or that sex trafficking is growing beyond the imagination. You may not have been affected directly but I guarantee you someone you know has. I beg of everyone who carries the name of Jesus Christ to read His Word and make your salvation sure.
