An Interview with
Jilleen Christian Recording Artist and Speaker |
|
BIOGRAPHY For
Jilleen, music is the vehicle – God’s love is the message. At a time when many Christian Music Artists
are pulled away from ministry and pushed toward “industry” obligations,
Jilleen has maintained focus on her life’s mission; to be a conduit through
her words and songs bringing the message of God’s love to a hurting
world. Jilleen’s ministry is best
exemplified through her life verse Mark 12:30 - “Love the Lord your God with
all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all
your strength.” Whether
performing before a crowd of hundreds (The Crystal Cathedral, Saddleback
Church, Union Church, The American Cancer Society) or in a small country
church, Jilleen’s message of hope and healing is both positive and
inspirational. She is considered to be
one of the major defining voices in Christian Music today. “Jilleen’s music touches the hearts of many. She was a very important part of our music
ministry here at Saddleback Church. I
admire her servant heart and ambition to serve God in full time music
ministry,” says Rick Muchow, Magnification Pastor, Saddleback Church, Lake
Forest, CA. “People can relate to the pertinent message in my
music. Sometimes we have good
days. Sometimes we have bad days. It all depends upon the day! My goal is to enable the listener to
experience God in their everyday circumstances, especially in the small
things.” Jilleen’s
latest groundbreaking release "The Hymns Experience" is a new look
at the traditional hymns of the faith.
With a fresh respectful approach, Jilleen weaves a tapestry of history
and faith together bringing the listener to a point of reflection. She breathes new life into the age old
classics like “This Is My Father’s World” and “Fairest Lord Jesus” and other
familiar songs. The classic lyrics,
rearranged into a modern day musical setting, blend the old and the new into
something truly unique and ear catching. “I was actually inspired to do this hymns project after
listening to a favorite CD of mine called 'Hymns From The Ryman' by Gary
Chapman. Every time I listen to this
album it draws me closer to the heart of God and enriches my relationship
with Him. I want to do the same for my
listeners; to inspire them with new renditions of their all time favorite
hymns, but at the same time, guide them into closer communion with Him.” "The
Hymns Experience" was produced by Jeff Nelson (Cindy Morgan, Babby
Mason, The Martins), Dove Award Nominee for Producer of The Year, and
recorded and mixed by Steve Dady (Kirk Franklin, Jaci Velasquez, Among
Thorns) at Sunset Studios in Brentwood, Tennessee. "The Hymns
Experience" follows up Jilleen’s last CD titled "Summon Your
Power" which excels in sharing vivid, yet mysterious Christ-like
imagery. In 2000, Jilleen released her first album "One King, Two Crowns"
containing nine power packed inspirational songs that are an expression of
Jilleen's everlasting love for the Lord. In
2003, Jilleen felt called by God to broaden her ministry to women and now
speaks on a variety of topics that have encouraged and entertained women at
retreats, conferences and ministry events nationwide. In
1997, Jilleen graduated from Concordia University, Irvine with a Bachelor's
Degree in Music and in 2001, Jilleen was awarded the Concordia University
Alumni Award for her contributions towards helping to fulfill The Great
Commission. During
her career, Jilleen has shared the stage with CCM greats like Bryan Duncan,
Al Denson and Patty Cabrera and has performed for events sponsored by The
California Southern Baptist Convention and Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS). Jilleen has appeared on several local and
national radio shows including the Let’s Talk Radio Show on 93.5 FM KFSG, The
Worship Café on 107.9 FM KWVE, The Indie Edge Show on 99.5 FM KKLA and The
Bible Broadcasting Network. Jilleen
partners with World Vision, one of the largest privately funded Christian
relief and development organization in the world. As an Artist Associate, Jilleen helps raise
awareness of and support for the work of World Vision in the area of child
sponsorship. While at home, Jilleen
enjoys spending quality time with her husband whom she married on October 12,
2002. Most importantly, Jilleen believes that her greatest treasure in life
is her personal relationship with the Lord and sharing God’s love with
others. |
