Friend's may come and go. Family may
let us down. But God is faithful, even when we are not. There
have been so many times in my life when I wasn't being faithful to God,
walking my own way....yet God stayed close beside me. There were times
when I begged for Him to let me die....but He had a plan for my life and He
would not let me go. There were times when I felt I was all alone in
this world....but God was standing right beside me....I just had my back
turned to Him and couldn't see Him. He carried me when I didn't
have the strength to go another step. He held me close to His chest and
comforted me when I was beyond comforting. He protected me when I put
myself out there and dared the devil to take me from this world. He
guided my ways when I closed my eyes and walked blindly into the world.
He cried when I walked away from Him. He rejoiced when I
would turn back to Him. He never let go of my hand....even when I tried
so hard to wiggle out of His grip. You see....I am His child....His
precious Princess....and He loves me more than any human can ever
understand. It doesn't matter what I've done or where I've been....He's
loved me...He's supported me....He's been patient and waited for me to
return....He's been faithful. There's no other relationship beyond the
one we have with God that will never let us down. Even the most
faithful of all people on earth will let us down in some way....even if it's
only by leaving us in death. No one is perfect....therefore there are
no perfect relationships. They all fall short. But God is
perfect. He is everlasting. He is the only one who will never let
us down in any way. We are the ones that are unfaithful. We are
the ones that blame God for everything that this world throws at us. We
are the ones that blame God when our disobedience causes trouble for our
life. We are the ones who too often want to take the reins and lead and
then blame God when we go the wrong way. We don't want to follow His
ways...we rebel against His teachings, and then grumble when the blessings
don't fall on our lives. I'm so thankful that God is faithful, even
when I am not. How many people do you know that would
stick by you when you turn your back on them....after they gave their life
for you. As hard as we try sometimes, our human love tends to be
conditional. We will stick by one another and love one another when we
are getting loved in return. But God's love knows no bounds, has no
limits, has no conditions. He loves us, plain and simple. Because
of that deep love for us, He cannot turn His back on us...no matter what we
do to hurt Him. He's always there, ready and willing to forgive us for
our thoughtless words and actions towards Him. |
